With the collaboration of Filmoteca de Catalunya and the distribution company Pack Màgic, Barcelona International Women’s Film Festival organizes two special sessions for children and their families with the screening of the medium-length film The Island of the Birds (Drôles d’oiseaux) by Charlie Belin, about Eli who has an overflowing imagination, is very curious and loves birds. She likes to watch and listen to them and observe them in all kinds of situations. On the street, at school… And even in the library, because she loves to read information about birds. One day, Anna, the school librarian, recommends a very special ornithology book. The next day, Eli goes to the library to return it, but the library is closed. Then Eli decides to go to the librarian’s house to give it to her in person and she discovers that Anna lives on an island full of birds in the middle of the Loire river. Thus begins an adventure in the middle of nature, and an inspiring journey for Eli.

• 8th October | 17.00 h | Filmoteca de Catalunya: Screening of The Island of the Birds (Drôles d’oiseaux) and a workshop led by its director, Charlie Belin. Imitating the protagonist of the film and her aesthetic proposal, we will make bird masks using acrylics and watercolors on paper and, of course, a lot of imagination! The dynamization of this session will be accompanied by experts in educational film activities from Drac Màgic.
